Resumen.

Julio Caro Baroja realizó las escaletas y los textos de locución de la gran parte de los documentales etnográficos que dirigió su hermano Pío. Utilizó el medio cinematográfico como registro, testimonio y divulgación de las tradiciones populares de muchos lugares españoles que había investigado con rigor científico y que estaban en vías de desaparecer. Esta actividad se desarrolló entre 1964 y 1979 y se concretó en un total de 18 obras. En su mayoría son cortometrajes que se incorporaron a la producción del NODO y a la de las series Conozca usted España y Fiesta de la segunda cadena de Televisión Española. Pero, se incluyen también largometrajes de gran importancia dentro del género, como  Navarra, las cuatro estaciones (1972) y Guipúzcoa (1979).

Summary.

Julio Caro Baroja made the character sketches and wrote the spoken texts for a large part of the ethnographic documentaries that his brother Pío directed. He used cinema as a record, testimony and divulgation of the popular traditions of the many places in Spain which he had researched with scientific rigor and which were in danger of disappearing. He carried out this work between 1964 and 1979 and there were a total of 18 productions. The majority of them are film shorts that were included in the NODO (a Spanish newsreel) and in the series Conozca usted España (Get to Know Spain) and Fiesta on the second channel of Spanish Television. But, there were also feature length films such as Navarra, las cuatro estaciones (The Four Season of Navarre,1972) and Guipuzcoa (1979).
